Case Study
Regional Retailer experiences EXPLOSIVE GROWTH for two consecutive years by implementing the New Paradigm sales training program!

The Situation:
For much of the 1990's and the early 2000's a regional retailer was struggling to grow. They were experiencing many of the traditional struggles in the retail industry:

  • How to get sales growth from a sales force with high turnover
  • How to differentiate themselves from other retailers with very similar products and services
  • How to attract and retain top sales talent
  • How to give the marketplace a reason to pick them over the competition (other than competing on price)
  • How to generate more referrals and repeat business
Still struggling, they decided to try something different. In late 2003 this retailer decided to implement our sales training program.

The Results:

In 2004 sales increased a whopping 40% for the year, with no other major changes! That translated to nearly $10 million in increased revenue! This allowed for the addition of eight new stores.

In 2005 sales increased by AN ADDITIONAL 45%! Because of this tremendous growth this retailer is planning to add over 30 new stores in 2006!

In addition to the incredible sales growth, several other key benefits were noted:
  • Sales force turnover improved and more top people stayed with the company as a result of better training which led to the opportunity to make more money themselves.
  • The retailer became a "vendor of choice" for many customers due to the way the sales people helped them find a solution instead of trying to "sell" them something.
  • They found competing on product and price was not very important. What really mattered was implementing a system to understand what the customer wants and needs, and then helping them find the best solution. Although other retailers were selling the same products for the same or less money, people still came to these stores since the quality of the shopping experience was more enjoyable and educational. In the end, happy customers is what it's all about.
